Isabella is an entrepreneur with first-hand experience of creating and developing an internationally orientated service sector business. She is well experienced in business strategy development, customer care, project management, change management, bid writing and quality management. She founded Comtec in 1986, a leading company providing translation services to exporters in the manufacturing, creative, e-learning and computer software industries. Her other focus and interest has been the interface between business activity and public policy, in particular in relation to language skills and women’s enterprise.
Isabella is the President of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and British Chamber of Commerce and the Vice-President of Eurochambres, the association of European Chambers of Commerce as well as the Chairman of the Confederation of West Midlands Chambers of Commerce. She is the CEO of CILT, the National Centre for Languages and has involvement in the area of women’s enterprise having previously been the Chair of the National Women’s Enterprise Panel and President of the Eurochambres Women’s Network. On top of all this Isabella recently completed PhD at Aston Business School on the gender aspects of entrepreneurship in later life.
